The medallion on the front porch of the Woodworth House, better known as Rose Hill. Rose Hill was built in 1906 as the home for Mayor R. H. Woodworth and his family. The Woodworth family lived in the home until Mrs. Woodworth died in 1946, almost a quarter-century after her husband had passed away.
Two years later the heirs deeded the home to the City of Port Arthur to use for civic club meetings and other city purposes. It available for tours by appointment.

J. H. Baxter of the Griffing Lumber Company built this residence in 1906 for R. H. Woodworth (d. 1923). Wide verandas extend beyond the impressive columned portico of the classical revival structure. Woodworth, a business and civic leader, and his wife Mary (d. 1946) hosted numerous social gatherings here in the early 20th century. Since 1947, the house has been in the care of the Department Club of Port Arthur.
