In the Westwood village of Islington is a local barbershop that has a set of murals on the north wall of the building it occupies.
The building is on the northwest corner of the intersection of Washington Street, School Street, and East Street. The store faces east to Washington Street.
There are three murals that are painted like scenes in three windows, which they are probably set in. All three are framed with shutters on either side and painted wood to represent window boxes below.
The mural to the right (west) shows a person with deep red hair being cut. There are two clocks, one with the face in reverse, with the words "Barber Matt;" and the other with the face proper (from this side) and the words, "Matt's Barber Shop." Various barber related items are represented.
The mural in the center shows an older man and a younger man to the left, and a barber seat to the right, with a checkered floor. A barber shop pole is above the seat, then a barber shop sign, then finally a window with the words "Barber Shop" on the window, backwards.
The mural on the left (east) shows a woman cutting a man, seated and reading a paper, with a child looking up for attention. Above are other figures related to boxing and baseball.
The mural is in good shape.
