This tower of hands represents individuals coming together in a strong community. 200 local residents helped by having their hands drawn by the artist, then their silhouette patterns, laser cut into the sculpture.

The grouping of hands represents individuals coming together in a strong community. A public exhibition was held in the foyer of a local supermarket, to obtain drawings of local residents hands. These were then scanned, laser cut and incorporated into the artwork.

The Tower of Hands is approximately 17 feet high and made from Cor-ten-weathering-steel which gives the artwork a weathered rust coated look.

If I were the artist I think I would have called it 'Helping Hands'
Some locals are not so kind, they call it 'The Rusty pipe'
