Fairy Falls is only accessible by boat on Milford Sound. The waterfall is semi-permanent in that it will dry up if it does not rain for a few days however with nearly 200 days of rain a year it seldom will be without water. This is a popular falls for tour boats as they will often get very close to the falls with water coming into the boat.
