Daly's Wharf is the original pier for the town of Akaroa, dating back almost 150 years. The pier is open to the public for fishing, swimming or boarding the Fox II, the oldest wooden gaff rigged sailing ketch in New Zealand.

Daly's Aharf is the fun pier in Akaroa, maintained for people on foot. The small cabin attractively perched on the end of the pier is the ticket office for the Fox II, a 90 year old sailing ketch.

Local fishermen catch mullet when in season from the pier. In the Fox II Dinning Guide, one picture shows the Fox II at the pier, another shows kids diving off the end of the pier. See (visit link)

The current commercial town wharf, a large concrete structure handles vehicular traffic, cruise ship landing craft, tour boats etc.
