Sledders in Forest Park have two nearby slopes to enjoy. The gentle wide Barney Hill and the steeper an more narrow Amphitheater.
Families with youngsters just learning how to sled flock to the easy slope of Barney Hill. The slope is 100 meters wide and has a drop of forty feet with a run of 100 meters. Most will begin the run near the road that runs up the hill and will slide diagonally from northeast to southwest down the hill. Many can slide down the hill at the same time.
The Amphitheater is on the other side of the road. Here the drop is 60 feet in only 80 meters. There is a handrail dividing the amphitheater, so the path is straight down and convergent at the bottom. The Amphitheater has room for a few runs on either side.
