Salmo is home to many stone murals celebrating the history and natural beauty of the area.

This interest stone mural has two life sized springboard loggers working away at that large tree.

This is a prime example of the type of logging that was done in the early 1900's. Loggers would make a cut in the trunk of a tree and insert a spring board which they stood on while sawing the tree down.

This mural, created in 1990, was the first project of the Kootenay Stone Masonry Training Institute.
