Just on the western edge of Salmo, this is the place to go when you're craving steak. It's at 103 Motel Street, which is off of Highway 3.

The Pend d'Oreille Restaurant is now closed.
Built in 1979, this is a lovely log building pieced together by Highland Log Builders of Creston BC. As a courtesy (and as advertising as well, I'm sure) they include a dated bronze plaque with every structure they sell.
Originally opened as Trapper John's Restaurant, the name has been changed to the Pend d'Oreille Restaurant, specializing in Steak and Pastries. A mouth watering combination, I'd say.
The construction is of large logs and a steeply pitched roof with large eaves, adorned with wrought iron hardware, for a bit of a medieval look. The interior sports massive log posts and beams with the dining room being completed by a large stone fireplace.
