The Clayton, AL Confederate Soldiers Memorial is a tall, square stone shaft topped with a soldier with his musket. The soldier is wearing a rather informal uniform and a slouch hat.

Memorial Text:

In proud and loving memory of the Confederate private soldier.

He bore the brunt of the great war. His privations and sufferings were surpassed only by his manhood and courage. He was of our home and blood, and we love his name and memory with a feeling that is beyond the reach of price, or the power of misfortune.
