Coventry, CT is a small town in Tolland County in east central Connecticut located on Lake Wangumbaug. It describes itself as the gateway to northeastern Connecticut. It was incorporated in 1712, has an area of about 37 square miles and a population of 12,500.

The coat of arms has a shield divided vertically. the left side is red and contains three vertical arrows, aligned horizontally. The right side is green and contains three horseshoes aligned vertically. the shield is flanked on the left by an American eagle with winds partially outstreached. To the right is a white eagle. Above the crest is an elephant and castle. Below in a green pasture surrounding Lake Wangumbaug and a ribbon is the Latin motto Altiora In Votis (Seek Higher Things).
