Alpine Grind Coffee House
The Alpine Grind is located in the picturesque mountain town of Rossland. In January 2014 Alpine Grind move to this new location.
"Our Coffee
Our beautiful hand-built Synesso espresso machine is the cornerstone of the Alpine Grind in Rossland. We have three separate Mazzer grinders, ensuring that we’ll have a roast you’ll love. The first grinder is always full of our Grind specialty blend of Oso Negro beans, roasted fresh in Nelson, B.C., an hour north of Rossland. Oso’s goal as a company is to provide the highest quality of life possible for their producers, customers, and themselves. That’s why they choose to buy organically grown and fairly traded coffee whenever possible and offer sustainable jobs to their co-workers.
The second grinder contains Oso’s Swiss water decaffeinated blend, one of the nicest decafs we’ve ever tasted (and we’ve tried a lot of coffees!).
Our third grinder is our wildcard grinder which changes regularly – sometimes daily if we have a particularly popular roast! Grind staff and customers are always traveling, and bringing back beans from all over for our customers to try. Some of our favourites are Stumptown from Portland, Cafe D’Arte and Cafe Vita from Seattle, Indaba from Spokane, Origins and Elysian from Vancouver, and Bows and Arrows from Victoria.
We also serve several other beverages when you’re wanting something other than coffee. Kootenay Chai is made in nearby Nelson, as well as Matcha Mountains matcha, chai matcha, lemon matcha, and raspberry lemon matcha. Drinks can be made iced, blended or hot, with whole or two percent milk, organic milk from Creston, soy milk or almond milk. And new to the Grind is a small selection of great beers!
