The image of this sculpture has been reproduced in many different forms since its creation in 1894. Many people will recognize the image but very few can tell you the title of the piece or where it is located. This is the restored original plaster casting of this sculpture. A mold was created from this sculpture and the statue reproduced in bronze and displayed in Visalia, California, the city where this plaster version was displayed for 48 years.
The museum is open daily from 10:00AM to 5:00PM; Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. While there is a fee to enter the remainder of the museum, this piece in the lobby is open to public view without charge.
