Located about a block away from the entrance to the Akershaus Fortress, this sculpture is titled "HANNE PÅ STRANDEN" which Google Translate tells us means "MALE ON THE BEACH"....Male? Really?
well, maybe we are supposed to identify with the artist and not the art...or maybe the translation is off since the work clearly depicts a nude woman resting on her right side and holding her upper body up with her arms.
The plaque at the site is in Norwegian and reads:

which Google renders as:

"SKULE Waksvik

A Wikipedia article (in Norwegian)about the Norwegian artist, Waksvik, (visit link) informs us he was born in 1927 and "...mainly uses motifs from nature, animals and women, many of the public rooms. He studied at the Art School in Trondheim (1947), Académie de la Grande Chaumiere, Paris, under Leopold Kretz (1947) and the Academy of Art in Oslo under Per Palle Storm (1947-1949)."
