This two-story brick commercial building was designed by William C. Knighton, architect of the Oregon Supreme Court building. John Bayne, a lawyer, and George Bayne, a hop grower, bought the property and commissioned Knighton to design this structure, completed about 1902. The Bayne Building has housed numerous retail businesses through the years and is currently home to a barber shop and an art gallery.
