Nong Khai is a small province of the Kingdom of Thailand, but it abuts Laos, which lies over the Mekong River, and hence, has a great deal of cross border travel, as goods and people wend their way back and forth, in the ceaseless journey of life.

Near the town centre, on the River, surrounded by other government buildings, is the main provincial court building. This building follows the usual rectangular, white style, with front garden and approach. I visited on a weekend, no sign of activity. The gates were locked, I had to view the building the trees and front fence.
