At the end of Frederick's year long celebration for its 250th anniversary, a time capsule was placed into the brick walkway in front of city hall. Per a Frederick News-Post article, on 1/2/1996, the celebration concluded with a time capsule containing items that reflected Frederick in 1995, such as a video of the anniversary parade (wonder what technology will be available to view?), a city map, and two 25-foot birthday scrolls with hundreds of signatures.
The stated time for opening will be in 2045 for the city's 300th anniversary. Bring a chisel as it is sealed in concrete.
Inscription: "Frederick's 250th Anniversary Time Capsule. Open 2045."
