Alder Branch Baptist Church is a red brick structure that, to me, has the look of an English country church. The church was chartered in 1830 in the home of Thomas and Lydia Atchley. The church is surrounded by a large, approximately 1300 graves, cemetery. The old church bell is displayed in a brick structure to the left of the church. I spent well over a hour in the cemetery "visiting" ancestors but, unfortunately did not notice what appears to be a cornerstone in my picture of the front of the church so I have no "built date" information. This is a country church that does not have a website.
