La tige de cadran, appelée Style, prend ici la forme du mat du voilier et est orientée nord-sud et inclinée pour être parallèle à l'axe de rotation de la terre. Le Style pointe donc vers l'étoile polaire, ce qui est donc sa seule utilité la nuit. ;-)
L'ombre du Style projetée sur le cadran solaire indique l'heure tandis que l'ombre de la bille de bronze qui y est attachée désigne la période de l'année.
Le cadran a un diamètre de 30,6 pouces et est fabriqué à partir d'une plaque d'acier inoxydable de 3/8 de pouce d'épaisseur et d'une grandeur de 16" par 50". Dans le but de souligner le lien entre le cadran solaire et le monde du nautisme, le style du cadran est un mât d'un voilier stylisé gîtant à 45°. L'analemme, le gnomon et une partie de la coque du voilier sont en bronze.
Le cadran est visible à l'entrée du Club nautique de Mézy, près de l'intersection boulevard Marie-Victorin et avenue De Mézy, à la même élévation et en bordure de la piste cyclable, le long du fleuve Saint-Laurent, où l'on peut rencontrer les deux cadraniers et plaisanciers de longue date.

The dial stem, called Style, takes the form of the sailboat mast and is oriented north-south and inclined to be parallel to the axis of rotation of the earth. The Style therefore points to the polar star, which is its only purpose at night. ;-)
The shadow of the Style projected on the sundial shows the hour while the shadow of the bronze ball is attached to it is the period of the year.
