In Wellfleet, along Chequessett Neck, is the Pearl Restaurant.
To get to the restaurant, from US Route 6, turn left onto Main Street, then another left onto Commercial Street, then follow this street to the restaurant and the bay. Parking is available on the pier across the street.
The restaurant is a very popular place. Eventhough it was the end of their season (Columbus Day) at the time of the visit, we still had to wait almost an hour to be seated. The restaurant has a main dining area with a bar, and canvas covered addition, where the oyster bar is. We ended up at the canopied area for dinner (more on where we were seated, later).
The menu had a great selection. Most of what is on the menu is seafood related. Appetizers include fried calamari, house made crabcakes, and sashimi tuna. Main meals include a number of fried or baked seafood, 2 lb lobster, and sandwiches that include shrimp po'boy, salmon burger and lobster roll. For those not seafood oriented, there are other selections that include chicken and beef. Also, there are gluten-free items - ask the waiting staff. I had baked scallops, and it was very tasty. Prices are about what you expect for the area - mostly in the $20-30 range.
The season is roughly Memorial Day to Columbus Day.
The one minus is this: we were dining, when we heard rain outside in a heavy downpour. Just as I was finishing dinner, drips were falling down from the canvas onto my plate! Since it was the end of the season, it didn't matter to complain. I hope that they repair it by spring.
