This stone statue of a weaver is standing in front of Morley Town Hall at the left hand side.

It is one of a pair of statues erected in 2007 representing Morley’s industrial past. The town hall built in 1895 was funded form the profits of these industries.
The stone for the statue was donated by Woodkirk Quarry and sculpted by Melanie Wilks a local artist who went to school in the town.
The statue shows a female weaver holding a shuttle standing behind various bits of machinery associated with weaving.
