This arboretum honoring Bill Atkinson is located on the west side of the Oklahoma Welcome Center (I-40, Midwest City), The arboretum winds around the visitor's center building, showcasing the native trees of Oklahoma. A plaque giving information on the arboretum can be found at the kiosk just west of the large playground.

Dedicated May 2000
Established through the generosity of the W.P. "Bill" Atkinson Foundation, The Tree Bank and the City of Midwest City.
This arboretum is designed to showcase the native trees of Oklahoma.
The trees are planted in groupings which reflect Oklahoma's four distinct growing regions, northeast, northwest, southeast and southwest. A variety of several different species are planted in groups for comparison purposes. The list indicates the groupings and the species.
Please enjoy the arboretum and your visit to Midwest City's Tinker Bicentennial Park.
