Die Mainfähre Okriftel geht auf das 17. Jhrd. zurück, als der Ort zum protestantischen Gebiet der Grafen zu Isenburg, das südlich des Mains lag, gehörte. Die Okriftel umgebenden Gebiete gehörten zum katholischen Kurmainz.
Die heutige Personenfähre befördert in den Sommermonaten Spaziergegner und Radfahrer zwischen Hattersheim-Okriftel und dem Kelsterbacher Wald.

The Main ferry Okriftel dates back to the 17th Century as the community was part of the Protestant territory of the Counts of Isenburg, which lay south of the Main. The Okriftel surrounding territories belonged to the Catholic Kurmainz.
Today's passenger ferry transports walkers and cyclists in the summer months between Hattersheim-Okriftel and Kelsterbach Forest.
