A series of 10 markers describing facts about the Town of Agawam have been installed along the Connecticut River Walk and Bikeway parallel to River Road in Agawam.

Boy Scout Troop 185 is an outdoor adventure Boy Scout Troop sponsored by the First Baptist Church of Agawam. Shortly after the Agawam section of the Connecticut River Walk and Bikeway opened, an Eagle Scout project to install historical and informational markers along the length of the 1.75 mile path was completed.

Each marker is a Lucite tablet attached to a 4' high galvanized steel post. As you travel along the path from the south end (coordinates) to the north end, the markers are inscribed:

The town was incorporated on May 17, 1885
