Just a short way off the Lake Country Recreation Trail, visitors can find the Cushing Memorial Park - dedicated to a family of US Civil War veterans.
Within the park is a section dedicated to the veterans of the most recent conflicts the United States has fought.
The Desert Storm monument is simply a granite rock with inscription listed below and surrounded by memorial bricks dedicated to those who have both served and fallen.
