Ogden Utah Temple
Cornerstone

In ancient time, the chief cornerstone was the final and most important stone laid in the foundation of a building. Jesus Christ has been called the chief cornerstone in the scriptures (Ephesians 2:20) because it is only through Him that we can be saved. Just before a temple is dedicated, there is a ceremony to seal the cornerstone to show the building is complete. President Joseph Fielding Smith sealed the cornerstone and dedicated the Ogden Utah Temple on January 18, 1972.
