This River Gauge is located along the Weber River, which is adjacent to the Riverside Campground, administered by the Utah State Parks Department. The campground is situated at the base of the Wanship Dam, which created Rockport Reservoir.
This station is operated by the U.S. Geological Survey in cooperation with the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and the Weber Basin Conservancy District. This station is managed by the Salt Lake City Field Office.

on left bank 0.1 miles downstream from Wanship Dam, 1.2 miles south of Wanship,
and 1.25 miles upstream from Silver Creek.
DRAINAGE AREA.--335 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--October 1950 to September 1955, April 1957 to September 1960, October
1988 to current year. Monthly discharge only April 1957 to September 1960, published
in WSP 1734.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder and concrete control. Elevation of gage is 5,900 feet above NGVD
of 1929, from topographic map.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, 2,340 ft3/s, May 30, 1951, gage height,
4.73 feet, site and datum then in use; minimum daily, 0.1 ft3/s, November 17-22, 1957.
HAZARDS SPECIFIC TO THIS STATION.--There are low levels of oxygen in the well, so when work is
required inside the well, 2 people should be present and a forced air ventilator should
be used to supply the well with fresh air. When high water measurements are made from
the bridge 0.25 miles downstream, no traffic plan is needed. The maximum recommended
safe wading gage height is 2.80 feet and the discharge is 500 ft3/s.
