This memorial is dedicated to local residents who served their country and died in the course of World War I. It consists in a bronze plaque, a 6-foot granite stele and a granite base. The names of all those who joined the ranks of the armed forces are listed on the plaque while a star has been placed next to those who died.

The text on the plaque reads as follows:

"1917 World War 1918

Dedicated to those who answered their country's call to serve humanity.

Erected by the Town of Highgate 1923"
