The late-Classicist statue of a major hero of Greek myth, Perseus, was sculpted in 1844 and it was located in former castle park located along small river Bystrice near a village Dohalice. The overlife-size statue made from coarse-grained sandstone depicts Perseus as a soldier with a helmet on his head, a long cloak over his body and he holds a sword in his right hand. In his left hand Perseus holds a shield with relif of Medusa's head on it. In front of him, at his foot there is a snake eating a frog.
Perseus
"Perseus is a major hero from Greek mythology best known for his clever decapitation of Medusa, whose head turned people to stone. He also rescued Andromeda from the sea monster. Like most of the mythological heroes, the genealogy of Perseus makes him the son of a god (Zeus) and a mortal (Danae). Perseus is the legendary founder of Peloponnesian city of Mycenae, home of Agamemnon, the leader of the Greek forces in the Trojan War, and the father of the legendary ancestor of the Persians."
