This village sign was erected by the villagers to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 1977.
The church depicted is the parish church of St Mary at Stow End, the oldest parts of which date from the 12th century. The nave and chancel were built around 1340.
