This is a large white granite Celtic Cross located in the greenspace of the visitor parking lot in downtown Amesbury. There is a plaque attached to the cross, that reads:
"THIS CELTIC CROSS, A REPLICA OF THE ORIGINAL AMESBURY CROSS, MARKS THE 2000TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST AND IS THE GENEROUS GIFT OF T. G. RIGGS AND FAMILY."
Below the plaque, inscribed in the stone, reads:
"GERALD W BURDEN
SUPPLIERS"
On the opposite side of the Cross, at the base, it reads:
"AMESBURY
AD 2000"

Characteristics of this cross: This is a Celtic Cross, made of white granite stone. It has a large base, with a slender post that narrows uniformly towards to top. The top of the cross is intricately carved in Celtic style. It is between 8 and 9 feet tall.
