The Boy on the Swan Fountain (Danish: Drengen På Svanen) consist of a 5' high bronze sculpture of a boy riding on top of a swan. The swan sprays a stream of water straight up from its beak. The water, then, falls back down onto the sculpture and into a 40' diameter circular granite basin. The sculpture was created by Hermann Ernst Freund in 1837. It replaced a similar sandstone sculpture that was originally installed in 1738.
