Below this overlook, shortly after 1p.m. on December 24, 1953, Firefighters Stanley J. O'Brien and Ambrose J. Riley answered their last call attempting to rescue 9 year old John Paul Stephenson from the lakes icy waters. All were lost.
This memorial is dedicated to all Rochester Firefighters who have lost their lives selflessly serving the citizens of this community.
