Wat Matchimawat is the major Buddhist temple in the city and province of Udon Thani, in northern Thailand. Flanking the entrance to the ordination hall of this temple are these two, tall, proud lions. Guarding the Buddha from evil doers. Entry to the wat is unrestricted.
