I found no information on Joseph Foster.

This is a common type tree trunk marker with the seal towards the top and the inscription in the middle. This is somewhat different as the inscription scroll is made to appear to be tied to the tree trunk by a loop of "rope". The trunk sits on cut logs with a carved lily in the front. The text of the inscription reads:

At Rest.
Joseph H. Foster
Born
June 20, 1856
Died
May 2, 1907

He lived to make life beautiful
Was the inscription legible?: Yes
