This gun, captured by Canadian forces, is a German Mk.G.08 - D.W.M manufactured in Berlin 1917. The gun is on display at the Branch 20 cenotaph in Taber, Alberta.

GERMAN MAXIM MGO8 WATER COOLED MACHINE GUN. SN 21584. Cal. 8mm. Manufactured by D.W.M. Berlin, 1917. This gun has many of its original parts and has been painted to reduce the potential for further exterior water damage. There are two other German guns on display as well as a cenotaph with a Canadian outfitted in World War I gear.
The display is located in the centre of town allowing for easy access to all residents to come and pay their respects to those that paid the ultimate sacrifice.
