A spur line was built from Oil City to Oil Springs by the Canada Southern Railway in 1885. By 1894, a station was in existence, and the Right of Way was listed as Michigan Central Railway. The current station was built in 1895 at N42 46.977 W82 07.243, 1100 Meters north from the current location on the same right-of-way. In 1929 the line was leased to New York Central, and operated until 1960. At some point after this, the station was moved to its current location on the grounds of the Oil Museum of Canada, and the station was restored and re-purposed as a museum.
Entry to the (very interesting) museum is $5 per person, but the station is visible from the road.
