When I saw this memorial on the grounds of the McDuffie County Courhouse in Thomson, Georgia, I wondered who had placed it. Then I saw the Woodmen of the World emblem at the top. Since there is a memorial to Thomas Edward Watson on the grounds, presented by Camp No. 1401 of Woodmen of the World, it would seem logical that this same group was responsible for the war memorial. That memorial is a waymark (WMF0E9). I was unable to find any other information about this war memorial.

The memorial can be found on the McDuffie Avenue side of the building, close to the intersection with Main Street.

The marker begins with the words: "In sacred memory of the men of McDuffie County who made the supreme sacrifice." After this the names are listed for World War I, World War I and the Korean War. At the bottom are the words: "The glory of their deeds shall never die."
Was the inscription legible?: Yes
