From an article in the Bartlesville Examiner-Enterprise:
The mural has three panels which portray the legacy of individuals and events who shaped Bartlesville, i.e. the City of Legends. The first panel portrays the early history of Bartlesville. It shows the Bartles Store and the Carr Mill, two early commercial establishments. The Nellie Johnstone No. 1, the states firs commercial oil is also depicted.
The second panel, portraying the first twenty years of the 20th century, showcases Bartlesville’s historic business district and includes the Interurban trolley.
The final panel, portraying the 1920's includes the Bartlesville headquarters of Cities Service, Hotel Maire which is now Bartlesville City Hall, and the Frank Phillips Tower.
The mural was painted by Dr. Bob Palmer, an art professor from the University of Central Oklahoma, and six assistants, all who signed the mural.
