"The Nazareth Convent and Academy Building is an outstanding example of Ecclesiastical architecture designed in the Romanesque style. Its dominating tower and extensive stone trim make it one of the most impressive structures and a landmark in north central Kansas."
The Romanesque style structure, while irregularly shaped, is approximately 200 feet long, 150 feet wide, and reaches a height of 55 at its highest point. The exterior is red brick with cut stone trim.
The original part of the structure was completed in 1903, with cornerstone services having been held May 15, 1902. William P Feth was the architect and the total cost, including land, was estimated at $100,000. In 1908 a large Chapel was added to the east side of the structure, completing the current front facade.
