The present appearance of the Chateau Milotice is given by its very complicated building history at the beginning of which a mediaeval water stronghold was. This stronghold was rebuilt to the four-span Chateau. This Renaissance residence, however, did not correspond to the representation demands of the Hungarian House of Serényi the member of which occupied very important posts at the Vienna Court. The relationship to the Vienna style can be found in choice of artists - besides the Moravian artists, the Austrian ones acted here too.
You can see a pretentiously composed complex of the Chateau area with its honorary courtyard, riding hall, stable, two orangeries, French park and adjacent pheasantry. The splendidly furnished interiors are an integral part of the Chateau. The Chateau, however, presents also many quality works of later period – e.g. a classicism ante-chamber, an empire bedroom as well as a neo-Baroque library. The Chateau exposition is completed by many season exhibitions annually, in the former kitchen a sale gallery of paintings and ceramics has been established.
