A Buddhist stupa contains relics, usually bones, of the Buddha, or Buddha saints, or of famous folk (kings and for forth). One such stupa is in the grounds of Wat Rachakrauh in the pleasant northern Thai provincial capital of Phayao City.
The stupa is located behind the Wat ordination hall. It is maybe 10m high, white in colour, and has a total of eight lions guarding its entrances. The lions are Singha Lions, each with an elaborate gold harness. Entry to the temple grounds is free, thought of course, a small donation is the thing to do.
