This triangulation station is located along Idaho Hwy. 28 about 45 miles northwest of Terreton, Idaho and 28 miles southeast of Leadore. The cap is in a ten inch square concrete monument about 50 feet southwest of highway centerline and about 25 feet northwest of centerline of road to the Charcoal Kilns. The cap was set by the U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey in 1950 and was marked MAMMOTH.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1950 (WRH) THE STATION IS LOCATED ALONG STATE HIGHWAY 28. IT IS ABOUT 12-1/2 MILES AIRLINE SOUTHEAST OF GILMORE, ABOUT 28 MILES AIRLINE SOUTHEAST OF LEADORE, AND ABOUT 44-1/2 MILES AIRLINE NORTHWEST OF TERRETON. THE STATION IS A STANDARD DISK STAMPED MAMMOTH 1950 SET IN TOP OF A 10-INCH SQUARE CONCRETE MONUMENT WHICH IS FLUSH WITH THE TOP OF THE GROUND. IT IS 48 FEET SOUTH OF THE CENTER LINE OF STATE HIGHWAY 28, 7.0 FEET SOUTH OF A WHITE WITNESS POST, 9.2 FEET NORTHWEST OF A NORTHEAST CORNER OF A SIGN MAMMOTH CANYON, AND 22.6 FEET WEST OF THE CENTER LINE OF A DIRT ROAD.
