The town hall of Fritzlar (Hesse, Germany) has been documented officially first time in 1109. The archbishops from Mayence held their judge days at this place. Thus the building counts as oldest german administrative office house. From 1274 it serves as Fritzlar city town hall. In 1435 it has been destroyed by a fire and built up again until 1441. The building is in good condition, inside and outside.

Das Rathaus von Fritzlar (Hessen, Deutschland) wurde im Jahre 1109 zum ersten mal urkundlich erwähnt. Die Erzbischöfe von Mainz hielten in diesem romanischen Bau ihre Gerichtstage ab. Es gilt deshalb als ältestes Amtshaus Deutschlands. Seit 1274 dient es der Stadt Fritzlar als Rathaus. Um 1435 wurde es durch einen Brand zerstört und bis 1441 wieder aufgebaut. Das Gebäude ist innen und außen im guten Zustand.
