From the Smithsonian AIC Description:

Pediment is topped by freestanding female figures of Faith, Hope, Charity, and below the apex, the figure of Saint Barbara. At the center apex, Hope is seen seated with an anchor in her lap; Faith is seen seated at the left corner holding a cross; and Charity is at the right corner, holding a young child in her lap. The figure of Santa Barbara stands in a niche under the pediment apex and holds a chalice in her proper right hand. Her skirt is decorated with a relief of a tower, her attribute. The Mission also includes three relief replicas of skulls and crossed bones, placed above doorway leading from church to cemetery.

In the cemetery adjacent to the mission are three additional pieces of art. A doorway from the church leads to the cemetery outdoors. Above the are three skull and crossbones. The skull and crossbones was a traditional sign for marking a cemetery in Spanish colonial times. Access to the cemetery is part of a self-led tour for a fee.
