"Das City-Hochhaus Leipzig am Augustusplatz ist mit 142,5 Metern (Gesamthöhe mit Antennenträger 155,40 Meter) und 29 Etagen das höchste Gebäude Leipzigs. Es entstand von 1968 bis 1972 nach Entwürfen des Architekten Hermann Henselmann im Zuge der Neugestaltung des Universitätscampus am Augustusplatz und war bei seiner Fertigstellung das höchste Gebäude Deutschlands. Aufgrund der drei langen, leicht nach innen gewölbten Längsseiten kann die Form des Uniriesen, Weisheitszahnes oder auch Steilen Zahnes, wie das Gebäude im Volksmund häufig genannt wird, aus Straßensicht als ein aufgeschlagenes Buch interpretiert werden, da die jeweils dritte Seite aus dieser Perspektive nicht sichtbar ist. Das Hochhaus sollte ursprünglich in Rostock errichtet werden.
