Village Gate used be a factory complex which has been converted to (in the words of RocWiki.com) a psuedo-urban mall (definitely urban, the psuedo must refer to the "mall" part). These gates carry the name much more dramatically than the sign!

The Village Gate, at 274 North Goodman Street, Rochester, NY 14607, is a vital component of Rochester's Neighborhood of the Arts (NOTA).
I've marked "other", rather than private property because although it IS privately held (by a corporation), it is certainly available for all to see and touch.
According to the website (
visit link) , this site was Stecher Traung Printing Co. until 1982, when Gary Stern bought what resembled a warehouse for $1.50/sq ft. It now houses some trendy and ecclectic mom-and-pop style shops, and several upscale restaurants. As far as I can determine, these gates are original to the building's original function.
