In North Attleborough, near the intersection of US Route 1 and MA Route 1A, is the G.I. Joe's Army Navy Superstore, which has a couple displays in front of it, including this helicopter, painted up to look like a helicopter in the MASH TV series.
The helicopter is located to the left of the store (facing the store from US 1). The helicopter is actually on a trailer, so, though it may not be on a permanent mounting, it has been there for at least a year since I first saw it. There are no historical plaques (the only plaques I saw said to keep off). Also, as other items, including the Grumman delivery vehicle had a 'For Sale' sign and this one did not, I am pretty confident that this is not going anywhere soon.
Research on the internet revealed that this is probably a Bell Model 47, which was known as the H-13 by the Army and Air Force. The source found had a picture and it was close to this copter. There are some minor differences that might be explained by a different year. But, the 'bubble' compartment was very simiar. Whether this vehicle actually served in the Korean War is not possible to determine at this time.
The online source, koreanwar2.org, has a pdf, "Whirlybirds," with a few pages about the helicopter. The first paragraph has the following:
"The Model-47 first flew in 1946, was granted the first ever U.S. commercial helicopter license in 1947, and remained in production for almost 30 years. Military versions saw extensive service in both Korea and Vietnam, and several generations of naval aviation helicopter pilots learned to fly using HTLs."
