Luther Cemetery is located one-half mile north of Route 66 on Peebly Road. This is a medium-sized cemetery that is well cared for.

Thelma Pierce's headstone is a red granite standing marker with a curved top, which has flowers engraved on either side of the name. This is a double headstone. Her husband, Joseph passed away in 1970 at the age of 63.

The surname PIERCE is engraved at the top center, and Thelma's inscription reads: THELMA M. / Aug. 13, 1905 / April 12, 2008.

** Thelma was born two years before Oklahoma statehood.
** She was six when the Titanic sunk in 1912.
** The Girl Scouts was established the year Thelma was ten.
** She was 19 when native Americans were proclaimed U.S. citizens.
** When Thelma was 26, the Empire State Building was opening for the first time in New York City.
** When Thelma was 51, "In God We Trust" was authorized as the U.S. motto.
** Thelma was 95 when the first crew arrived at the International Space Station.

Just imagine all the things Thelma saw happen during her lifetime.
