Fine church and very well maintained grounds. Also featured a large cemetery. This Catholic parish was formed from a school in 1920 when it was requested a mission be established to serve the African American at Breaux Bridge. That first church was dedicated in 1925. The schools enrollment reached its peak in 1934 with 305 students. The school was closed in 1972. The original church burned in 1976 and this present church was completed and dedicated in 1978.
