The Presbyterian Church building is actually two distinct structures, the original 1879 one story hand hewn stone church and a 1926 red brick structure that was built to accommodate a growing congregation. The 1926 addition is not part of the NRHP designation. The native stone blocks were laid in an ashlar pattern, which along with the high pitched roof give the building a more massive appearance.
Over the years the stone building was subject to alterations, but it still retains its original form. When the congregation left in the early 1970's it was preserved as the home of Ellis County Historical Society and Museum.
